Q2) Why do some MCAT students seem to study so much but struggle
yet others almost never study but pass with better grades?
The answer is not all about natural ability or intelligence.

time of asking.

but how you perform on MCAT exam day depends on many things. Keep reading.
MCAT Exam/test taking strategies and preparation tips:
MCAT 1st Exam Tip: Sleep well the
night before your MCAT.
A rested mind almost always performs better. You'll find that MCAT Exams
can be real tiring.
MCAT 2nd Exam Tip: When receiving
the MCAT exam paper read all questions before answering any. This can
apply to any type of test Including MCAT exams. Your mind will automatically
categorize the hard and easy ones. Answer the easy ones first. While doing
this, your mind inevitably multi-tasks and thinks about the harder questions
in the background.
MCAT 3rd Exam Tip: Before the exam,
Visualize. Visualize doing the MCAT exam extremely well. Regardless of
what kind of test environment you're in, prepare mentally.
MCAT 4th Exam Tip: Get the right
Brain Waves going. Research on brain waves shows that when you are in
the right state, known as the "alpha state", your brain unlocks
its memory banks and can retrieve and access knowledge more easily. If
you are stressed, or nervous your memory banks becomes barred. Find out
how to access the Alpha State.
MCAT 5th Exam Tip: Relax and rid
the fear Think what the worst outcome of your MCAT test could be. Failure,
right? Can you handle failure? Of course you can! RELAX! If you're not
relaxed, you'll have too much pressure. Smile when taking the MCAT. It
works!
MCAT 6th Exam tip: When preparing
the MCAT test use mind mapping. Mind mapping is an excellent tool to use
for MCAT studies, whether taking notes or recalling information.
MCAT 7th Exam Tip: Silence is Golden.
Talking about the MCAT test creates pressure. Zone in on the information
you need to know in order to pass the MCAT exam, not on how well you expect
to do.
MCAT 8th Exam tip: Concentrate.
Put all your focus on the MCAT. If you are thinking about other things
or your emotions are running wild your ability to concentrate will be
affected. In MCAT you need to shut out all extraneous thoughts. FOCUS!
MCAT 9th Exam Tip: Get into the
Mind Of your MCAT Tester. Who is setting this MCAT exam and what do they
want to see. On MCAT exams, you can research previous papers. Do it. It's
a great help.
MCAT 10th Exam Tip: Practice passing.
Buying MCAT past papers and books with previous exams is a major help.
