The
SAT is the key to your future. As such, the SAT is one of the most important
exams you'll ever do. But can you tell me why;
* Some people cruise through SAT exams and tests and other
students stress out?
* Some students study very hard for SATs and struggle while
others study little and pass with good SAT scores?
Surprisingly, it is not natural ability or intelligence
that is the key. Certainly these things help, but if you read the following
exam and test taking tips you'll pass your SAT with flying colors.
Naturally knowing the relevant SAT information & curriculum
is important. There is no substitution for that. But, how you perform
on exam day depends on many things. Read on.
SAT Exam/test taking strategies and preparation tips
* 1st SAT Exam Tip: Sleep well the
night before your SAT. Nothing replaces this. A well-rested mind usually
performs better. SAT Exams can be really tiring, so rest up before.
* 2nd SAT Exam Tip: When they give
you the SAT exam paper read all the questions first. Your mind will automatically
identify the hard and easy SAT questions. Answer the easy ones first.
While doing this, your mind automatically works on the harder SAT questions
in the background giving you a better chance.
* 3rd SAT Exam Tip: Before the SAT
exam, picture yourself passing the SAT exam easily.Regardless of where
you take the SAT, prepare mentally.
* 4th SAT Exam Tip: Get the right
brain waves going. I'm not kidding. Research on Brain waves shows that
a relaxed mental state, known as the "alpha state", your brain
unlocks its memory banks and can retrieve and access your knowledge easily.
If you are stressed, nervous or fear failing the SAT your memory banks
become constrained. Learn how to access the Alpha State.
* 5th SAT Exam Tip: Relax and control
your fear of failure. Handle the worst outcome mentally. Convince yourself
that you can handle failure. Of course you can! RELAX! Too serious means
too much pressure. Smile when you see the SAT paper. It works.
* 6th SAT Exam Tip: Use mind mapping
to prepare for the SAT. Mind mapping is an excellent tool to use for taking
notes and recalling information. Learn it to do well on the SAT.
* 7th SAT Exam Tip: Don't prophesize
about your results. Silence is Golden. Talking about the test creates
pressure. Focus on the info you need in order to do well. Then you'll
do better, especially on high-pressure exams like SAT.
* 8th SAT Exam Tip: Concentrate
totally on the SAT. Putting all your focus on the SAT exam, and nothing
but the SAT exam, will help you tremendously. Forget about the end of
term part & the problems at home. The SAT is everything. Make it so,
just for a short time.
* 9th SAT Exam Tip: Get into the
Mind Of your SAT tester. What do they want to see? Research previous SAT
exams. Do plenty of previous SAT papers in preparation. Use all the advantages
you have available to you. Ace this SAT!
* 10th SAT Exam Tip: Practice passing.
On SAT there are patterns. Learn them. Most of the SAT questions are recurring.
Find that pattern!
So prepare well for your SAT and even if you're not
the brightest in the class, or a genius at math or science you can still
out perform others that are. Use your SAT tips to good advantage.
